The AS-Interface is specified in the EN 50295 and IEC 62026-2 standards. The ASI bus was developed with the aim of guaranteeing a bus system for inexpensive data transmission. To achieve this aim, a specification was drawn up. For instance, the system is specifically for the transmission of digital signals. Furthermore, shielded lines were not specified, as is usually the case, and instead simple, unshielded but coded two-wire lines were chosen.
